We try to move those affected survivors out of harms way and on to a more resilient future. You will do this through various mitigation project-types such as Home Acquisitions, Home Elevations, Mitigation/Reconstruction, flood proofing and planning to name a few. Furthermore, should you be selected, would assist our agency in the assurance that these affected folks are better prepared should another event occur again in their local. Through your efforts, they, personally, and as a neighborhood, and community, will become more resilient. You will meet and support those individuals who have experienced very bad days and do your best to assist them and their affected communities to move on from this dreadful event(s). The Emergency Management Mitigation, Insurance and Resilient Communities (MIRC) Office assists survivors of natural disasters through the management of disaster projects.
